Today I am going to review a bluetooth stereo headset this one is a from a company called MEElectronics which is a is a brand created by S2E Inc. S2E Inc. started selling memory on ebay in 2005 and quickly added other products including cases, iPods, Sandisk products, and TVs. After releasing several media players under the MEElectronics brand, they realized that the earphones made a huge difference to the sound quality and that theirs sounded very good, especially when compared with most stock earbuds. Finally, in 2010, a concerted effort was made to bring great sounding, affordable earphones to the market and MEElectronics, as it is today, was born. the headset costs about $39.99 USD and comes with Free shipping if brought on Amazon, so that’s all you will pay. So not bad for the price but how does it perform? That’s what this review intends to show you, so read on….
The packaging, is a box which has a picture of the MEElectronics Air-Fi® Journey AF16 on the front of the box along with a diagram on the back which mentions about the features of this headset
The headset do have two identifying marks on it which is the MEElectronics logo on each ear bud The headset indeed lives up to the fresh design in my opinion…
The headset come ear tips already installed something I like about these earphones is they stay in your ears while running and these eartips are thick enough to still stay in your ear without the worry of them falling out
On the right earbud you will find a place to put the included USB to charge the headset and the power button which will also be used to put the headset into pairing mode next to this is the volume buttons which I thought could of been placed on the left earbud and maybe have the buttons spaced out since I found it a bit of a challenge to turn up the volume while wearing the headset without having to take the headset to adjust then place back on my head
The headset comes with MicroUSB Charging Cable and instruction booklet which if you want to read it will give you a lot of helpful tips on how to wear the headset correctly in case you never had a sports headset before the earbuds of course go into your ears and the wire around the back of your head. You will know when the headset is fully charged by looking at your device there should be a battery meter somewhere on the device where that be iPad or iPhone
This headset is very easy just hold down the power button for about 3-4 secs until a red-blue light starts flashing and to turn off just hold down the power till the red light goes away
I used these for about a week with my Macbook and iPad and I found they were good for using Pandora, watching YouTube videos on my tablet and phone and while going on a walk I tested these out to see if there was any sound leakage and if there was it wasn’t noticeable by me or some of my friends who helped test to see if they could hear any sound coming out of the headset
So yes the headset is inexpensive, but is it even worth it? I would say yes if you want a bluetooth headset but with the feeling of ear buds with a wire which can be dangerous while biking then you won’t go wrong with this headset as well as not breaking the bank then with some other bluetooth headsets
The headset does seem well made and it does have features like good sounding bass, dustproof, comfortable ear tips (which do come off so you can clean them)
So in all it’s not bad for a bluetooth headset, they did a great job for talk time which you get 7 hours but I think they could do better in terms of battery time five hours for music playback might be a lot for you but for me it’s not that’s only half of my day but if this doesn’t bug you then you are sure to enjoy this headset from MEElectronics
The final score averages out to be a 9 out of 10, but that takes into account everything, but as you can see below it the pros out do the cons by a long shot.
+Seems well made
+Sound is very good and lives up to being a great sports headset
