Today I am going to review a Travel Router & PowerBank from a company called Hootoo they produce a world-class line of consumer electronics which includes IP Cameras, Wireless Products, and network interface cards. the travel router  cost about $49.99 with free shipping on Amazon  so that’s all you will pay. So not bad for the price but how does it perform? That’s what this review intends to show you, so read on….

Info:

Product Name: HooToo® TripMate Wireless N Portable Travel Router

Provider: SunValleyTek

Price: $49.99 Amazon US      45.55$ CDN Amazon.ca

The Review:

The packaging, is an easy open white box which opens slides up much like a iPhone box where the router is packed into a plastic holder also  neatly packed inside is the instructions and the ac adaptor, on the box you will find  for retail purposes pictures of the hub and features and specifications of the HooToo® TripMate Wireless N Portable Travel Router & Power Bank

The hub does have a few identifying marks on it which is Hootoo logo on the front  as well as the back where  the words “HOOTOO Model HT-TM-01” this router has 3 different settings Router, power bank and you can hook up a SSD to it for portable storage great if you have downloaded a bunch of movies and you want to watch on the plane  You also don’t have to just connect via wi-fi but also have the option of using a WAN port located opposite the USB port    This router indeed lives up to the fresh design in my opinion…

Setup was easy even though there were a few times after turning it back on  I had to keep going back into the router settings and reconnect to my network even after having the saving my network into the router Just like my Kingston Mobilelite Wireless you can control the portable storage on (if a drive is connected) from your iPad and iPhone again perfect if you have movies on your hard drive this way everyone who is flying with you can enjoy some content on the long plane ride

This router comes with a 1 year warranty  Instruction manual in English as well a DC adaptor

Conclusion:

So yes the hub are expensive for some budgets  but is it even worth it? I would say totally! If you will be traveling and want to connect a small hard or flash drive to a network so others can share the files another good reason to get a travel router is if your hotel hasn’t got or makes you pay for wifi but gives you FREE wired access you can use this product to create your wi-fi spot in your room

So in all it’s not bad for small travel router designed for the traveler better than paying the high amount for hotel wi-fi when they give you a free ethernet internet which all know is a  smarter idea when packing for a trip I always think smart and remember myHooToo® TripMate Wireless N Portable Travel Router

The final score averages out to be a 9 out of 10, but that takes into account everything, but as you can see below it the pros out do the cons by a long shot.

PROS CONS
+ Priced well
+Made and Designed with care
+Lights up letting you know power is going to router and if the wifi is on
-Had to reconnect to my wifi spot after turning it off
