Hot on the heels of release of the iOS 7 redesign of iBooks and iTunes U, Apple has updated iOS to version 7.0.4 and released iOS 6.1.5.

If you are waiting for iOS 7 jailbreak, it’s safe to update. Hacker iH8sn0w has confirmed that there are no security changes.

The update comes in at 17 MB or 16.2 MB, which isn’t a lot. It includes many bug fixes, including a fix for users unable to make FaceTime calls.

To install it just go to Settings>General>Software update
Press download and install, tap agree and wait for it to download and prepare. After that a pop-up will appear, allowing you to install update now or later. After you tap install, iOS will start verify the update. When it’s done things will start installing. When it finishes you’ll be kicked back to lock screen with iOS 7.0.4 installed.

You can also update with iTunes, but over the air updates are way more convenient.

Alongside that Apple has also released iOS 6.1.5 for 4th gen iPod touch users with FaceTime bug fixes and more fixes and stability improvements.

Updating process is the same as for iOS 7.0.4.

I have updated to iOS 7.0.4 and there are still numerous bugs and glitches so Apple still has a lot of work to do. Certainly update to it though.
